In building this year’s healthyish gift guide, I compiled a list of my favorite things this year. New things, old things, big things, small things—whatever makes me so excited and want to tell people about it immediately

So these are all the things I think are absolutely worth gifting—to yourself or others. I've separated them into a few sections in the hopes that it's helpful for your holiday season. 🎁😃

(Goes without saying, but none of these are sponsored/paid for. Affiliate links, yes—but they don’t affect my judgement in any way.)

EVERYDAY JOY

Ikigai Vitamin Case

The opening click of this simple, yet beautiful, supplement case lives rent-free in my head. It’s hard to express just how great these are, but it’s no surprise that every time I mentioned them in the newsletter, they’re one of the most-clicked items. (Oh—and I personally have the big one and then the small one for traveling.)

Blackwing 602 Pencil, Sharpener, & Point Guard

I loveee journaling because it’s productive, meditative, and more. I especially love journaling because I freakin' love the feel of this pencil (and the "point guard" cap you can accessorize with) and this sharpener.

TheraBack & TheraGun

I use my TheraBack every day and my TheraGun before and after every workout. Both have made a difference, I think! Recovery (or whatever this category of products is called) is cool, and I've tried a lot of things this year. (Shout out to the Shiftwave, which was really epic. But nothing beats the OG gun and their new back thing, which offers four different modalities in one.

Hullo Buckwheat Pillow

My back sucks (IYKYK), and this pillow has made a huuuge difference for me. It's like nature's memory foam in a sense—and I struggle to sleep without it.

CeraVe Skin Renewing Night Cream

Last year (2024) was my year of skincare, and not much has changed since. (You can see my full protocol here.) But my hands-down favorite product (which you can literally buy at any pharmacy, btw!) is this CeraVe night cream. The way it layers on, smells, etc., is just perfect.

PRACTICAL GAME-CHANGERS

Ice Cream Scooper

This is really for my wife (who LOVES ice cream even more than me), but this is a similarly game-changing product that should make all other scoopers feel ashamed. She still swears this is the best gift I ever got her (and I once gifted her Adele tickets, so thanks a lot).

Green Bell of Japan Nail Clippers

I don't get why/how, but these are game-changing clippers everyone should invest in.

Steel Straws

I learned a LOT about microplastics this year (see my super duper Microplastics Special Report), and this was among the easiest fixes. Plus, it’s so easy to clean!
Buy it on Amazon

Unbound Merino Tees

I'm obsessed with these 100% merino wool tees (another Microplastics Special Report research find) and wear them constantly.  I rotate between Active for workouts and Regular for everything else. You can dress them up or dress them down, and there’s no freakin' plastic!

Woolly Briefs

Same here, basically. Buy these for your partner, I’m serious. Everyone loves underwear as a holiday gift, right? But truly, they’re awesome 100% merino wool briefs (again, no plastic!), and I bought a zillion of them. Plus, the name is just 🤌😘.

Ab Wheel

Might be silly, but shreds my abs. I loveee using it.

Super Agers by Eric Topol

Eric Topol is a highly respected researcher and his newsletter is one of my go-tos. His book is basically your evidence-based guide to human longevity. It’s a great (and important!) read that absolutely deserves a spot on your bookshelf.

THE PRODUCTIVITY COLLECTION

AirPods Pro 3

The real hack here is to get two and label them. I use one for my phone and one for my laptop; then you're magically ready to have any conversation, any time, using one of the best inventions ever.

Costco Tresanti Gellar Standing Desk

Five years later, I'm still using my Costco standing desk. It's affordable, sturdy, and comes with three presets, so I can have one for sitting, standing, and even desk treadmill-ing.

Logitech Upright Mouse

After discovering this recently from the 5HT community, I feel like I should have been using this my whole life. My wrist has never felt better.

Fun Dodecagon Desk Timers

Whenever I find my mind wandering or need to knock out something in a short period of time, I turn to these fun timers on my desk. It turns work into a game!

Reflect App

I'm an obsessively organized person. After trying many things over the years, I've settled on Reflect as my platform of choice for notes, to-dos, daily agendas, and more. I'll spare you my full, detailed system 😅. Just know Reflect is the best I've used yet, and I highly recommend it.

BRILLIANT LITTLE FIXERS

Ozlo Sleep Buds

The biggest perk of these is that they fit in your ear… and don’t fall out! They play the (white) noise of your choice at the volume you choose, and they play a different sound at a preset alarm time, so you don’t have to bother anyone. Game-changing for sleep, for relationships, you name it.

Manta Eye Mask

After trying every eye mask, this is by far the winner and gets my full recommendation. Somehow they're comfortable AND sturdy AND I've bought two of them for everyone I know who needs some extra Zs. 😴

ChatGPT-Generated Coloring Pages

I've been doing this a ton for my kiddos, and it's amazing. Upload a photo of your kid, ask for it to use its likeness, and then get creative with the prompt. From there, print it out in 8.5 x 11 and be a hero to your kiddo! (Oh—and if you don’t have a printer at home, send the PDF or PNG to your local Staples, Office Depot, or FedEx.)

SUPPLEMENT STOCKING STUFFERS

Creatine

This was (among other things) the year of creatine. It reached the mainstream, and now everyone’s taking it (and probably should be), including me. I want to give props to Create for popularizing creatine in gummy form (even though now everyone has a creatine gummy), and to Thorne for making the most trustworthy daily powder of it. I rotate between both.

Tartary Buckwheat Sprout Powder

Such a cool product with a great story. Plus, anti-inflammatory! I add a scoop to every smoothie I make.

Timeline Urolothin-A Softgels

IDK what it is about these red waxy capsules, but I truly enjoy taking them. They’ve also got gummies. I buy the Mitopure Urolothin-A research.

Seed Health

Similarly, I've been taking Seed's shiny green capsules for years and can't recommend them more highly. I've felt the difference taking the daily synbiotic, DS-01®, and wrote about my experience here.

Kosterina EVOO

I take a tablespoon of EVOO every day with my AM supplements, and it is the best tasting, IMO. They also have DOPE gift packages.

LMNT

After my heart arrhythmia, I doubled down on magnesium and potassium, and no one does this better nor healthier IMO. Watermelon ftw. (Though their new lemonade flavor is pretty good, too.)

FEEL-GOOD TREATS

Pioneer Pastures Milkshakes

It’s hard to express how delicious and healthy (even lactose-free, what?) these are. I'm a very minor investor and am obsessed.

Protein Bars

I tried A LOT of protein bars this year. The ones I keep coming back to are Jacob Bars and Legion Bars... They're the right mix of healthy ingredients, taste, and macros.

Maui Nui Venison Sticks

I can’t say how many of these I’ve eaten, but they taste great, have an amazing protein-to-calorie bang, and the story behind Maui Nui Venison is just awesome (they shoot an invasive species of deer at night from a helicopter for the U.S., okay?).

Kirkland Egg White Cartons

Nothing's helped me reach my protein goals better than these. Maybe a weird gift, but for the right person, it’s egg-cellent. (Also, it looks like there’s a ton of content dedicated to these on TikTok 😂.)

LesserEvil Popcorn Snack Packs

I raved about these in a recent 5HT edition, but they’re the perfect whole grain low low-calorie, high-fiber snack with just 3 simple ingredients.

A 6-Pack of NA Beer

Big year for NA beer and no one does it better than Athletic Brewing (though I really do like Untitled Art's ridiculously named "FLVR!" series, too). Guinness 0.0 is also unreal and tastes just like the real thing to me.

THE CLASSIC FAVORITES

Massages

Look, gifting a solid massage never fails. I get mine at AustinDeep every month. They're torturous experiences 😅 that I swear have never helped me feel better. My suggestion: Go for a fascia-focused deep tissue massage wherever you can. And if you’re here in Austin, nothing's better than AustinDeep.

A Great Private Trainer

Right after moving to Austin, I was blessed to find an incredible personal trainer (hey, Jason 👋). With all kinds of back problems, I wanted to get back into weight training buuut needed help. Jason delivered—and then some! He’s got a great energy, a great beard, and is among the greatest people I’ve met. Nothing beats an in-person session, and a pack of 10 sessions or so is a tremendous gift for someone getting back into it. Plus, you can typically find surprisingly good trainers for $75-150/session on everything from Thumbtack to Instagram in your local area! But if you’re not sure where to start, my personal trainer (Jason himself!) is offering virtual training as he leaves Austin (sad 😢) if you want someone pre-vetted. Couldn’t recommend him more highly.

Board Games

Loveee a good board night. My wife and I play a bunch, but Parks is probably my personal fave. We have the 1st edition, but their newly released 2nd edition looks amaze!

A Couple’s Retreat

I’m biggg on getting away with your partner. Gifting a trip is a healthyish way to strengthen your relationship annnd gives you both something to look forward to. Plus, experiences are the gift currency of millennials anyway right?? Miraval is a popular one here in Austin that my wife has been to and likes! Our fave trip ever is probably to Edinburgh. 🤷
Check out Edinburgh

Vitamix 5200 Blender

I'm a biggg smoothie guy, and this is my weapon of choice. My favorite thing about the Vitamix is actually drinking the smoothie straight from it—and then how slick and easy it is to clean afterwards. I know a blender isn’t a “sexy” gift, but it’s one you won’t regret buying.

HEALTH IN YOUR HANDS

WHOOP

After trying everything, I decided I'm a WHOOP guy. Here's why I love it: It feels proactive and preventative in a way other products don't. Yes, it does sleep. But it also knows when I've rock climbed? Plus, it comes with an ECG monitor, which has been helpful for me personally. You can also upload your labs for free—and the AI gets smarter. It’s probably the closest I’ve seen to the personal OS vision. Product rocks. I’m into it, and I bet the person you gift it to will be, too.

Function Health

Yes, biomarkers are a commodity now. But Function's still my fave for the biomarker test. Plus, once you're in, it gets better and better. One thing I particularly appreciate is how quickly they roll out extra add-on tests if you want them. For example, I recently measured pTau (phosphorylated tau) proteins (a key biomarker for Alzheimer's) as a baseline—and added it with the click of a button. Excited for what’s next.

BYO Labs Consultation

I got the chance to spend 30 mins with Dr. Renae Thomas (thanks to Lifeforce) and go through my latest  labs at a conference. She. was. extraordinary. Yes, AI's awesome, but nothing (yet) replaces someone super experienced and empathetic walking you through your biomarkers. Give THIS gift if you want to be really creative. In fact (!), Parsley actually recently launched this as a product–bring your own labs from the last 6 months and get 30 minutes with a functional medicine-trained clinician for $250.

Zepbound from Eli Lilly Direct

I started microdosing GLP-1s earlier this year and I’m a big fan. Don't be suckered into paying a subscription on top to anyone; just go direct to Eli Lilly. (You do need a prescription, so consider this one a gift for yourself!)

HEALTHYISH HOME UPGRADES

VersaClimber Home Climber

The ultimate non-impact cardio machine, imo. I got one two years ago, use it weekly, and it kicks my ass in 10 minutes or less 💪. Nothing like it.
Buy it on VersaClimber

BlackWing Adjustable Bench with ZeroGap

This has been a new investment, and I never realized I needed a bench in my home gym without a gap—until now. Like every bench has a gap, right? Well, NOT this one!

Battle Ropes

Nothing feels better than whipping battle ropes around, tbh.

Lightwork Home Health Assessment

Highlyyy recommend doing a data-driven assessment of water quality, air quality, EMFs,, and more in your home. My friends at Lightwork are the best. This is another thing I think will be huuuge next year!

At-Home Sauna

I go to the sauna every chance I get. The research and benefits of hot therapy are legit (more on this soon in 5HT). I don't have one (yet), but wow, do I wish I did. These are some of the brands I’ve kept my eye on…

Coway Air Purifier

I’m saying it now: Air health is going to be a HUGE topic next year. We've now got five (!) of these in our house. I also recently learned they've got this fancy, beautiful version I wish I’d purchased 5 of instead, but still. Also check out Lichen Air—a new wave of even more advanced tech on the way from my friend Dr. Austin Perlmutter.

PROMISING BUT PENDING

Eight Sleep

We recently got Eight Sleep’s Pod 5. Everyone raves about it and so far, so good—buuut too early to recommend it unconditionally.

Board

My friend Brynn Putnam built this cool thing after her time at Tonal (also so freakin' cool). I admire her and can't wait to play it (...but have been waiting to unwrap this until later this year as a gift to the fam, so stay tuned for an update).

Daylight Computers

I loveee the concept of this, but just haven't been able to commit to this enough. Nonetheless, it's so cool and makes for a great gift.
